  • How do I make a restaurant booking?
    We will always ensure there is a table available for our hotel guests for dinner in the pub. If you would like to dine at a specific time please call us directly on 01434 681 232 and say that you would like to make a booking for dinner in the pub. Alternatively you can email and let us know. Hjem's reservation system is managed independently of the hotel. Please use the booking widget on the Hjem website, or email and let them know you would like to make a reservation for dinner at Hjem and they will be able to check availability for you.
  • I am staying at the hotel, am I guaranteed a table in Hjem?"
    Hjem's reservation system is managed independently of the hotel and so a hotel booking does not guarantee a table in Hjem. Please use the booking widget on the Hjem website, or email if you would like a reservation with them. We will always ensure there is a table available in the pub for all hotel guests who do not have a reservation for Hjem.
  • Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
    Yes we will always cater for specific requirements, provided we have advance notice. For breakfast we always have gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian breakfasts available on request.
  • Is the Hadrian family friendly?
    Yes, we have high chairs and changing facilities as well as a small supply of nappies and wipes.
  • Do you allow dogs in the restaurant?
    We welcome dogs in the pub and have dog biscuits and water bowls for them to enjoy. However, due to the open nature of the kitchen we are unable to allow dogs in Hjem.
  • How do I reserve a room in the hotel?
    You can either call us directly or use the online booking tool on our website to check availability and current rates as well as completing a booking.
  • Do I need to pay upfront?
    No, during the booking process you will be asked to provide a valid credit or debit card. These details will be stored in a secure system and not charged. We run a 48 hour cancellation policy whereby a card will only be charged should you cancel with less notice than this. In this situation the full room rate is chargeable.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    We have a 48 cancellation policy whereby you are welcome to cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the date of your stay without charge. Should you cancel with less than 48 hour’s notice the full room rate is chargeable
  • Is breakfast included?
    Yes. If you require an early check out we can organise a packed breakfast in place of the included cooked breakfast.
  • What time is check in and check out?
    Check in is available from 3pm however we are happy to organise early check in with advance notice. We ask that you check out by 11am.
  • Is there bag storage?
    Yes we can store your bags if you want to arrive early and go out and explore before check in.
  • Are towels provided?
    Yes fresh linen and towels is provided. All rooms are equipped with toiletries and a hairdryer also.
  • Are dogs allowed in the hotel rooms?
    We have two dog friendly bedrooms. There is an additional charge of 5 per dog per night to cover the additional cleaning required.
  • What time is the reception desk open until?
    Reception desk is open until 11pm when the bar closes.
  • Is there parking?
    Yes we have a large car park you are welcome to use free of charge.
  • Can I park my campervan?
    Unfortunately, under the current COVID-19 measures, we are unable to offer our usual parking and facilities to Campervans. We hope to be able to reinstate these facilities by next summer. ​
