The Hadrian Hotel Menu for 2017

We are extremely proud of our menu, wether a local or just passing through you must come and try it!

Situated at the heart of Hadrian’s Wall we strive to use the best local produce available. If you have any special dietary needs please don’t hesitate to ask a member of staff to assist you.

Our food is freshly prepared so please be patient, especially during busy times in the Restaurant. We do not serve fast foods only food as fast as we can.  In extremely busy times we may run out of certain dishes for which we apologise. This menu includes our house favourites.

You may be comforted to know that our Restaurant kitchen was awarded 5 stars (the highest grade) in the government Environmental Health Standards Inspection for cleanliness and best practice.

Lunch Menu

Served Monday to Saturday 12pm – 5.30pm

    Served with sweet potato veloute, buttery savoy cabbage and smoked bacon crumbs

  • Goats Cheese Roulade
    Whipped goats cheese roulade, pickled vegetables, brioche biscuits, toasted walnut, balsamic jelly and micro-herbs (V) (G)
  • Cheese Souffle
    Twice baked cheese soufflé, served with a roll, creamy cheese sauce, spinach and herb salad. (V)
  • Smoked Salmon
    Served with parmesan and herb pancake, almond flakes and cucumber creme fraiche with dill salad
  • Smoked Haddock Risotto
    Served with peas, parmesan flakes, crostini and pea shoot salad
  • Chicken Liver Parfait
    With red onion marmalade, honey and sunflower toast with basil oil

  • Pork Belly
    Slowly twice cooked, served with mash potato, apple textures, cauliflower puree, black pudding crumbs with red wine jus (G)
  • Catch of the Day
    Fresh from the North Shields Fish Quay served with heritage potatoes, curly kale, caper and tomato dressing pancetta crisp and micro-herbs. Please ask a member of staff for today’s fish. (G)
  • Ravioli of The Day
    Authentic Italian ravioli in a rich tomato sauce, with garden peas and a garlic crostini. Please ask a member of staff for today’s filling.
  • Lamb Two Ways
    Confit lamb shoulder and roast rack of lamb with fondant potato, haggis bon-bon and natural mint jus
  • Mushroom Strudel
    Homemade with wild mushrooms, creamy tarragon sauce on a buttered spinach and pine nut salad
  • Feta Cheese Tart
    Warm feta and sun dried tomato tart, with onion marmalade, rocket salad and balsamic glaze

From the Grill

  • Ribeye Steak
    10oz chargrilled locally sourced steak cooked to your liking, served with hand cut chunky chips, grilled tomato and mushrooms, bearnaise sauce and watercress
  • Gammon
    10oz chargrilled D cut steak, served with hand cut chunky chips, fried egg, water cress and home made chutney
  • Chicken
    Grilled breast served with chunky chips, tomato, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce
  • Burger
    Handmade 6oz beef burger served with brioche bun, chips, salad and tomato relish
